Batu Caves is a limestone hill that
has a series of caves and cave temples in the Gombak district, 13 kilometers (8
mi) north of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It takes its name from the Sungai Batu or
Batu River, the which flows past the hill. Batu Caves is also the name of the
nearby village. The cave is one of the most popular
Hindu shrines outside India, dedicated to Lord Murugan. It is the focal point
of the Hindu festival of Thaipusamin Malaysia.
This semester break coincides with
the Diwali break, one of the biggest day Hindus. Because I will be back to
Indonesia, I took time to visit the Batu caves.
Here's my suggestion for a way to Batu
Cave, journey started from Plaza Rakyat LRT station
Plaza Rakyat LRT à State Bank
Interchange to the commuter train that
would take us directly to Batu Caves.
