Mohammad Hatta

I would share about one of inspiring person I my life. Mohammad Hatta

Mohammad Hatta  (12 August 1902 – 14 March 1980) was Indonesia's first vice president, later also serving as the country's Prime Minister. Known as "The Proclamator", he and a number of Indonesians, including the first president of Indonesia, Sukarno, fought for the independence of Indonesia from the Dutch. Hatta was born in Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia). Despite his efforts to gain Indonesian independence, he studied in the Netherlands from 1921 until 1932. Moreover, after his early education, he studied in Dutch schools in Indonesia.

Mohammad Hatta is often remembered as Bung Hatta ('Bung' is an affectionate title used to address colleagues, popular in the early 1900s and is still used by Indonesians).

Hatta was born in Bukittinggi on 12 August 1902 into a prominent and strongly Islamic family. His grandfather was a respected ulema in Batuhampar, near Payakumbuh. His father, Haji Mohammad Djamil, died when he was eight months old and he was left with his six sisters and his mother. As in the matrilineal society of Minangkabau tradition, he was then raised in his mother's family. His mother's family was wealthy, and Hatta was able to study Dutch as well as finishing Qur'an after school.

Let me end this post with one of my favorite quotes

be yourself, everyone else already taken

Rumah Gadang

This entry I would share about my hometown west sumatera, Agam. In previous I usually post about place, but in this post I would share about house especially traditional house from Minangkabau. Minangkabau is one tribe in Indonesia, we use matrilineal system it means everthing will follow from women, for example our special tribe, traditional house, heritage and many more.

minagkabau royal palace "pagaruyung"

Rumah gadang or rumah bagonjong or in English we can say big house are the traditional homes of the Minangkabau. The architecture, construction, internal and external decoration, and the functions of the house reflect the culture and values of the Minangkabau. A rumah gadang serves as a residence, a hall for family meetings, and for ceremonial activities. In the matrilineal Minangkabau society, the rumah gadang is owned by the women of the family who live there; ownership is passed from mother to daughter.

The rumah gadang is built in one of two basic designs: koto piliang and bodi caniago. These forms reflect different two variations of Minangkabau social structure. The koto piliang design reflects an aristocratic and hierarchical social structure, with the house containing anjuang (raised floors) at each end to permit elevated seating of clan leaders during ceremonial events. The bodi caniago design reflects a democratic social structure, with the floors being flat and on one level.

If you go to West Sumatera our government building also use rumah gadang architecture, that make us still remember about our traditional house.

In this post I will share about my trip to Malacca. I read some Review about this city, so I decided to go there the beginning of this semester. I go there with my friend. We start our journey from pudu raya central.

From Pudu Raya central we took lrt to Bandar Tasik Selatan. On Bandar Tasik Selatan so easy to find ticket to Malacca.

From Bandar Tasik Selatan to Malacca central only rm 12. From Malacca central we took bus no 17 to go to bunga raya street. This street is near from an attractive place in Malacca.

In the night we go around Malacca. We went to Malacca river. I can't find the famous market at Jonker street because the market only held in a weekend.

The next day we go to attraction place. That really make me amazed, even I alredy know that Malacca quite small, but I'm not expecting the place is just bedside one and another.

We went to one of famous cruch there, but because im Muslim, so I cant enter it.

After that we go to famosa building that very near from Crunch

The only only one attraction place that we need to pay is teming sari tower, for non Malaysia we need to pay rm 20

my shoes store

In this posting I would share my another hobby. usually girls forget about time when they meet with mall and shopping. They can spend their time in mall, eventhough just window shopping. So do i, I can forget my problem when shopping. I am so addict with shoes. I spend more money to buy shoes than other things. And I dont like if mine is the same with others.

From that habit I usually make my own shoes, we can say custom shoes. We can make shoes depend on our style. Lately, my friend loves my shoes. They also want to custom their shoes. So from that I decide to try small business with my friend in Bandung to make custom shoes.

So, I come out with my own brand tarompa
You can find another catalouge at tarompa twitter

cameron highland morning view

We arrived at Cameron Highland at 7 am. First we visit the Kea Farm shame this place is still closed because we are too early into this place, they say this place is nice to find a variety of unique souvenirs and Cameron Highland, after which we breakfasted around Cameron Highland market. We finally decided to visit the park Agro Tourism. There are many various flowers, Strawberry, and cactus.

After the park we visited the Agro Tourism Garden Lavender. In this garden we entrance fees collected at RM 5. In the garden is very pleasing to the eye with flowers that lay in front of the eyes from the color purple, red, yellow and pink.

One destination that we can’t visit are Boh Tea Centre in Sungai Palas area because we were too tired and jammed so we decided to go back to UUM.

Batu Cave

Batu Caves is a limestone hill that has a series of caves and cave temples in the Gombak district, 13 kilometers (8 mi) north of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It takes its name from the Sungai Batu or Batu River, the which flows past the hill. Batu Caves is also the name of the nearby village. The cave is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, dedicated to Lord Murugan. It is the focal point of the Hindu festival of Thaipusamin Malaysia.

This semester break coincides with the Diwali break, one of the biggest day Hindus. Because I will be back to Indonesia, I took time to visit the Batu caves.

Here's my suggestion for a way to Batu Cave, journey started from Plaza Rakyat LRT station
Plaza Rakyat LRT à State Bank
Interchange to the commuter train that would take us directly to Batu Caves.

and Voilaa morning at 9 am I arrived at the Batu Caves greeted with blistering morning and a nice view of the statues that exist in the area of Batu Caves.

parangtritis beach

When you ask me what the name of a beach in Jogjakarta is, the first mention will come up is: Parangtritis. This long black sandy beach with high current is a well known tourist attraction. Most people love to see sunset on this beach, because the view is really good.

Last time I went there its around January 2011, yeah I really miss everything about that place. I went there with four of my friends. One of my friend studies at Jogjakarta, so he guides us to get that place. To get there we rent a car, because if we use public transportation we afraid cannot catch the last bus to go back.

On this beach you can ride the horse carriage to explore the beach from edge to edge. Because it the waves are big and strong so, swimming in the sea is no allowed. In this you can also ride the faster paced ATVs, for those who want something more 'extreme', we heard that you could go rock climbing along the nearby cliffs too. There's also a food court by the beach that also has public bath & toilet facilities.

Thus the details about  my spending on parangtritis beach:
Car rent           Rp 250.000 (24 hours)
Entrance Fee   Rp 3000/person
Parking Fee     Rp 5000
Horse riding     Rp 20.000
ATV                Rp 50.000

I just can upload just two pictures, because I forgot where I save that pictures

my new hobby

Since I study in UUM, I love taking photo, because this campus has wonderful scenery. It's too bad if we are not having one of magic hours in UUM. I called sunset or magribh time and sunrise as "magic hours" because it will hypnotize anyone who see that.

Usually if am not going to class, I always walk around UUM and take photos. Sometimes I go with my friends, but I prefer to go by myself, because I need to concentrate and feel magic hours moment peacefully.

I am not a professional photographer, I am just take a photo with my phone camera. And for this blog, I make some photo become slide show enjoy it :)
